Yoga - Undust at desk

If you believe yoga is all about twists and turns of body in innumerable directions and delusive postures, it is a myth. In fact it is a traditional science that unfolds many secret treasures within each of us. Impact of Yoga practice is not just at physical level, but often even beyond our observation. It acts on mental nodes, emotional mounts, energy channels and various other aspects of human living. Each of the Yoga asanas is specific body positions which open the energy channels and psychic centers. They act as tools for higher awareness.

To start as Yogic, all it takes is to believe. Believe in the practice. Believe in yourself. Believe that change is happening. And that change, is for the best. Practising beyond belief is better than the best. Believe!

Here are few simple tricks to keep stress out of desk.

1.    Head-on: Let’s start with the power source of our body. Place your hands on the temples and massage them gently. Press your top of the head with a slight pressure for a minute or two. Massaging relaxes the nerves that connect to the mind.
2.    Unknot your eyebrows: Confused? Puzzled? Annoyed? Then and there your eyebrows are knotted. Take time to unknot it. Take a break from work for a few minutes and pinch your eyebrows using your index finger and the thumb. Do this around 8-10 times and notice the difference.
3.    Eyes on roller coaster: What is your eye catchy expression looking at a roller coaster? Aren't your eyes popped in and out; rolling circles; blink blink and blink to see how high it goes? This is what exactly needs to be done to relieve eyes even in the absence of a roller coaster. The eyes suffer a lot during long hours of staring at the computer screen. Give them a break every 30-45 minutes by looking at a far-sighted object. This would exercise the eye muscles for long-sightedness. Blinking your eyes more frequently throughout the day improves your vision.
4.    Caught on your ears: Pull your ears up from the top and down from the bottom. Ear lobes are connected to awareness. Do you remember your teacher pulling you by your ear in class? It was to increase your awareness so that you pay more attention. Don’t give people a chance to pull your ears. Pull them yourself!
5.    Neck goes round and round: Neck is pipeline for all the nerves connecting your body to mind. Don't let the neck become a bottleneck in your daily work! Roll your neck gently clockwise and anti-clockwise, then from left to right and sideways.
6.    Hold your hands: It’s always been a pleasure holding hands of loved ones. But did you hold the hand of your dearest you? If not, you must. Hold your hands, raise your arms and move them up and down, round and round.
7.    Twist and turn: Gently lift your upper body, keeping the lower body fixed on the chair. Then twist your spin while your turn it back from left and right. This will exercise your back and improve your physical flexibility.
8.     Hug yourself: Hug yourself for all its support. Now with your hands resting on your knees stretch your back backwards and look towards the ceiling, stretch your back forward and drop your head forward. Team this up with exhalation (up) and inhalation (Down).

9.     Longing legs: Tough deadlines? Can’t move an inch? Yet, legs longing to move around? Here is how you can make them happy. Raise your legs to a level where they are in line with your hips. Feel the stretch in your hamstrings. Move the ankles in the clockwise and anti-clockwise direction while holding in this position. It will relax your calves and make you ready for a sprint to your lunch place!
10.   Meditate: You are always on the move, getting the project delivery done for the client, negotiating with the finance team or chalking out road maps for your subordinates. Give your mind a break. Meditate. Take time out for 10-15 minutes and meditate. This will reflect in the quantity and quality of your work too!

These posture are beginner level and everyone can comfortably try. In case of any serious medical issues please consult your doctor/Yoga instructor before practising.

Join the Mission

Great men and eminent men have monuments in bronze and marble set up for them,
but this man of divine fire managed in his life-time to become enmeshed in millions and millions of hearts.

Tribute to:
Shri Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi
Father of our Nation

For the man who had cleanliness and sanitation closest to his heart,
what better tribute can one think of than joining hands in swachh Bharath mission, an initiative by P.M. Modi.
Bapu’s Dream…                                                                      Modi’s Vision…

“If one hundred and twenty five crore countrymen decide that they will never
spread filthiness, which power in the world has ability to spread filthiness in
our cities and villages? Can`t we resolve this much?”

This Gandhi Jayanti, be the change you wish to see in the world.
Time to show patriotism.

P.S : Thanks Anirudh Katyal & Archana for helping me layout this post!

The very change we wished to see and we made it all together. Road at DLF Gachibowli, Hyderabad.
Flash of experience ;
Way late today when I was looking at this post, it looked incomplete. I did talk about mission, ask about joining the mission but never updated on the same. So I decided to share an in-site of it.

Indeed they were baby steps but those big feet made the change. It was beyond just a mission. As after that day those roads start to feel our responsibility. Made to maintain by our hands and  doesn't feel to let go efforts to void. I'm sure each of us when passed by them have a good feeling inside and a pride of responsibility outside. A feeling that "It not just road, but its OUR road".

You must also have had some similar mission stories and roads that you relate to. If yes, it is always good to cherish and great to share :)

My Ganesh! My Responsibility!

Sparkling streets, embellishing roads and booming music is here, there and everywhere. Reverberating!!
Jai bolo Ganesh maharaj ki.....Jai!!

The city is all decked up and celebrating.  The spirits are up and high. Enthusiasm is pouring out. Creativity at the peaks!  WOW!  What a festival!
It just amazes me every time I think about energy this festival brings into the city. It’s always been much more than just a spiritual practice. Soooo many Artists are out there, sculpting these beautiful Idols of Ganesh. Each and every idol out on our roads today; is a showcase of art India is inherited with.  Oh my god! I live around so many creative heads. I wish if I imbibed a little.

Besides, have you witnessed the subtle message this festival is been giving?Elephant is animal and rest looks like human. But why are they attached?

Well, here is relevance. Ganesh is an amalgamation of animal faced human. The elephant face is a representation of Prakruthi, nature.  And the human body is the shrusti, the humanly existence. This festival is a call of celebration for the coexistence of the nature and human form. We worship this form as a god to reemphasize on the interdependency and importance of nurturing nature. It is probably a message from our ancestors saying, “Hey, worship the nature. And celebrate this blessing. “

Beyond relishing the beauty of life existence, at this same very point we also should see our responsibility.  With great responsibilities comes great joy. Maybe this is where all the joy is coming from. We have been enjoying our previous gens responsibility.  Now it’s our turn. When we take the responsibility of safeguarding nature, our future gen gets to celebrate more of these festivals.

India is just blessed with the innumerable culture and traditions. Each of it has its own story to narrate and message to inspire.

Proud to be an Indian! I proudly vow to hold my responsibility in safeguarding its heritage. How about you?

Soulfully by you!!

When I came into this world, you were my first friend.
When I grew to fight, you were my first enemy.
When I learnt about flaunting, your dresses were my wants.
When I desired about pastries, your piece was always much tastier over mine.
And so I played my pranks, I fought with you to the fullest, I snatched all your brand new dresses; I gulped my piece of cake and cried for a share in yours.
Eventually, you grew “taller” as my strength, “sharper” in handling my tantrums and “stronger “as my support. We never drank Horlicks, yet you got it all! All that made you so perfect for me.

Besides the big you, I was blessed to have many little ones like an icing on my cake.
We jumped up and high, shouted loud and wild, danced mad and crazy, played ringa-ringa and hop-scotch together.  Yet mamaaa sang a long song only to me for the mess you all guys made. L
But my dear little ones,
I never felt guilty for missing my workout; because you all made sure I compensated it big time. The Barbie’s dress up, kitchen doings, Kung fu fights, pillow fights … oh oh oh my littles ones!!  You hold the complete credibility for my creativity. Thanks to you guys for helping me make a paper boat with my question papers in my grad. Of course my lecture when crazy after that: p
I completely own it to you guys for what I am today by nature. You are the ones who showed me to smile and smile bigger, play and be playful, love and spread love. Every time I am lost, I always run back to you my dear little ones. I am inspired, inspired to re-live life Queen Size.

Now, you guys have grown big and tall, Nice and smart, wise and witty, independent and intelligent. Your predominant role in life has been upgraded by many designations of a kid, a girl, women, and a wife. Yet my SISTERS, I am soulfully by you.
I wish you all raise high off the shore. But pray to keep routes of our association deep within. Separated by distance, yet connected at hearts.
My sisters, I am soulfully by you!

P.S: This post is in dedication to all sisters J also for all those, who miss having sisters J

For each and every one of those who applauded by…
MY BLOG!J

I started my journey as a blogger to showcase every beautiful thing that ever came my way. After all, I believed sharing was joy. When I started to write blog for the first time, I had absolute no clue. No clue of how it would reach to people. Or even if anyone would be interested reading it. If yes,” why either?”  Was something I used to ask myself.  But later, I purely did it for the expression I had for each of those things I shared.  It gave me immense pleasure in doing so. I was pleased with few and shared it all. That was all my moto.

Eventually, I flew by the storm, ransacked by ripples and lost in the hive of life routines. My feet were still, yet my mind hovered. Not realizing what is that I treasured… Till the time I heard it from YOU! Years later I stopped posting in my blog, when YOU came to me and said, “Great job”.  That was the moment of Happiness as a blogger… N-Dimensionally!

For each of YOU, who read by my lines.. Who came by times.. And pat by my thoughts.. Thank YOU!!
#Happiness#Inbeingloved#AndInlovebeingso..!!
So I decided to do more of it...to share love more...to be loved more!! J

This post is in true dedication for all YOU, who appreciated me being ME J
