An Expedition beyond human

An expedition that
leaves one beyond one’s self.
“Leh Ladakh“, was the only big name on my travel wish list for
years now. Every small or big travel discussions I always had this name up promptly. One chilling December holiday
morning; while I was enjoying a glass of water on a foreign land; came a call
on my phone saying, “Trek, mountains, HIMALAYAs - Beauty of India, May” not a
second thought and my answers was a Big YES.
Days winded by, thoughts rolled over, mundane life made me
never realize I had a trek planned up mid-year. As days came by, troop trailed up ..discussions, shopping, Does and Don’t. The pre-preparation was a cake walk. Thanks
to Kiran and Team for managing it all for the troop. While there was so much
buzz in the week, I was very laid back. Neither have I bothered to read about
peoples trek experiences nor about the organization. No idea, bare information and so no doubts. While everyone were
approved of leaves, I not even applied by then. Being very unsure just two days
ahead I have finally declared that my Trip to Trek is ON. Morning before my travel was like just another day at
office, no excitement, no anticipation but all I know was for the next 10 days
I will be doing something more challenging.
Flight at dawn made me flee the work. With the rapidly
falling dusk excitement in me grew. Eyes had discomfort in hugging each other
and just before they could embrace, alarm swayed them apart. Knot on my shoe, buckled backpack intensified the feel of trek. Fastened seat belt, ignited
engine, feet accelerating and my cheetah (car) roared on the ORR. Chase of
time has began…
Journey begins!!
